One Tribe, One Love

One Tribe Scholars are a select group of Columbia College Chicago student ambassadors who work closely with the Multicultural Affairs office to actively engage the campus community in the exploration and articulation of multiculturalism, inclusion, and social justice issues. While I was a member, I served as a scholar and graphic designer, designing magazines and many promotional materials for events, including posters, postcards, and flyers.

This piece was illustrated for Namaste 03 (Manifest Edition). Namaste is a magazine produced for the One Tribe Organization at Columbia College Chicago. The icons are all part of a poster series designed for the "With Love, From One Tribe" Wednesday Workshop series, where scholars and members explore love through the lens of social justice and inclusion. Instead of discussing oppression in history and society, the scholars chose to focus on love for their workshops, a hopeful outlook on changes that have made a difference and on loving yourself and others. The roses were my way of illustrating the term “to look at the world through rose-colored glasses.”
