MapWorks Tulsa, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with a diverse board of directors.

Their mission is to enhance the lives of Tulsa residents and visitors by illuminating Tulsa’s diverse districts and serving as an introduction to the city’s spirit and energy. MapWorks Tulsa foster unity, inclusion, and identity with an ambitious map design, The Tulsa Map®, an artistic lens and community outreach.

For the 2024 map, I wanted to show folks interacting with the graphics, engaging with both new and historic attractions, businesses, and neighborhoods. The community is building a new Tulsa.

Color palette.

The color palette is vibrant with many shades of green and fresh pops of accent colors. Green to pay respect to the historic Greenwood District and green to represent current and future Tulsa communities’ growth.

Green is also a nod to the many green locations and attractions, literally those that have green in their name or are very nature focused that Tulsa offers, like the Greenwood Rising history center, Guthrie Green, Oxley Nature Center, Gathering Place, Tulsa Garden Center, and Tulsa botanic Garden. The main secondary color is a nod to the Meadow gold district and sign on route 66, the golden driller, and of course the yellow in the Tulsa flag.
