This poster was created for the Thunder versus Nets City Nights game on January 19. Each Sunday home game, beginning November 17, is designated as a City Nights game, during which the Thunder team wear their 2024-25 NBA City Edition Uniform and play on the City Edition court. The uniform was created in partnership with Nike, and its design completes a two-year story arc reflecting Oklahoma City’s evolving landscape, growth, and momentum. During each home game, fans have the chance to take home a poster from the Fresh Take Poster Series designed by an artist from the Thunder Artist Group (TAG). Each poster highlights a cultural movement here in OKC - art, fashion, music, development, culinary, or fitness.
My night, in case you hadn't guessed, is culinary innovation! I was heavily inspired by the owner of Ma Der Lao Kitchen in OKC, chef Jeff Chanchaleune, who is a 2024 and 2023 James Beard Foundation nominee. I resonate with the food that he makes, creations that he serves in bowls and plates with designs that I grew up with. He’s just one of the many amazing chefs here pushing boundaries, receiving accolades and awards, challenging folks to rethink what food can taste like in Oklahoma.
